Everything you need to know about the perfect sports bra

A sports bra may not be high on your wish list. You prefer to spend your money on a lace underwired bra, and all the fabric used is not the same as sexy underwear. But whether you have a smaller cup size or a fuller bust, a sports bra is indispensable in your handball wardrobe.

Are you wondering why wearing a sports bra is definitely worth it and how to choose the right size and fit? Then read the tips below!

Why do you choose a sports bra?

You would think that a normal bra gives you sufficient support and that a sports bra is therefore not necessary. You're wrong and we'll tell you why. A sports bra supports you because of the tight fit, the comfortable design and the materials that the bra is made of. The tighter fit ensures that your bosom does not move a lot when you run or jump, for example. The design is always such that you have optimal freedom of movement without irritations and frictions. In addition, the materials also ensure that irritation is prevented and sweat is removed. Wearing a sports bra also offers many benefits in the longer term. This keeps the skin young and prevents injuries to, for example, the lower back.

Determining your bra size

Size is essential in finding the perfect sports bra. Like your everyday bras, sports bras are usually sized with a number and a letter. These two sizes refer to your under bust width and your cup size.

What do you need to measure your under bust and chest width?

Simple: a body measuring tape. If you like to measure the size with a bra on, make sure you are not wearing a padded, minimizer or push-up bra. How do you proceed? You measure the under bust width by pulling the measuring tape tightly around your chest just below your breasts. Place the tape measure over the nipples around your body for the bust measurement. Keep the measuring tape a little looser. Ideally, you have someone else measure your size. This ensures that the centimeter is kept straight and pulled tighter.

Determining the cup size for a sports bra

Have you measured the under bust and chest width? Then you can easily determine the cup size for a sports bra. Subtract the under bust width from your bust and you will know what cup size you have.
