Buying a Handball
When buying a handball, there are a few things to keep in mind. A handball typically consists of a bladder, a foam layer, and an outer cover. The more expensive the ball, the more technology it incorporates. This generally results in better grip, longer durability, and improved bounce and flight characteristics. Of course, it's a personal choice how important these features are and how much you're willing to spend.
Molten, Hummel, Kempa, Erima and Select Handballs
At Handbalshop.nl, you'll find handballs from various brands. Brands like Molten, Erima, Select, Hummel, and Kempa all offer a wide range, from affordable handballs for kids to professional match balls used at the highest levels.
Each brand makes slightly different handballs. All conform to official regulations unless stated otherwise. The softest handballs are found in the Kempa and Erima collections. Hummel handballs tend to be slightly firmer. SELECT and Molten are known for their harder balls. The largest handballs, still within the approved size limits, are mainly from SELECT. Kempa and Erima offer medium-sized balls, right in the middle of the range. Hummel and Molten often produce smaller handballs, usually toward the lower end of the size spectrum.
Resin-Free Handballs
Resin-free handballs are designed to eliminate the need for resin. These balls feature a special outer layer, are slightly smaller in diameter, and lighter in weight, still within the allowed limits. This enhances grip and control without resin. In resin-free matches, the balls can be slightly smaller and lighter compared to resin matches, although the official sizes remain the same. For example, a size 3 handball will be larger than a resin-free handball in size 3. Both are approved for men's matches, so you don't need to choose a different size than you're used to.
Handball Sizes
Children, women, and men use different handball sizes. So it's important to know whether you need a size 00, size 0, size 1, size 2, or size 3. For convenience, here's an overview:
